Geoff - Arguably more understated than those previously noted, but no less meaningful to all of us Gen X'ers would be Kelly Slater. Not only did he resurect a nearly failing industry he reminded us all of what can be.... "I was just living in the moment, that's something I've been trying to do this year. I wasn't worried about anying that I couldn't control" The quotation was taken somewhere between his 7th and 9th world championship.

You must include the GenXers found in the infotainment media. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, of course. But also Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity.

Many of these are older GenXers and some on the cusp with Boomers. I'm a younger GenXer and I suspect you'd find fewer right-wing GenXers born in the 1970s. Older GenXers were more impacted by the Reagan virus, but younger GenXers barely remember Reagan at all.

It's because of older GenXers that our generation has become known as the most Republican generation. By the time younger generations were hitting adulthood, the media was already losing it's short attention span for GenX.
